First impressions:
This feels like an all around high quality light, from the machining, anodizing, threads, button, bezel, tailcap, springs, and even the 18650 adapter. Feels very solid and like it has a very good amount of thermal mass.

Build:
Very good attention to detail. Plenty of threads so unscrewing takes a little longer, but that helps with durability, strength, and heat transfer. Heavy duty springs, and what looks like a bypassed spring on the driver side. Stainless steel bezel. Overall I'm very impressed with this Fireflies light, its probably the most well built and best feeling light in my collection.

Usage notes:
I know that SST20's have a reputation of having greenish output if you are unlucky, but that is NOT the case here. Fireflies consistently have the best binned SST20's on the market, and even though the 5000K isn't high CRI, it still looks so much better than my XHP50.2 and 70.2 lights, because of the lack of green in the beam. I got this at the same time as a FW21A Pro, and this light, I think is the better buy. No green present in the beam, comparable brightness, also has Anduril, has a light up side switch, and better sustained brightness. This light has always been a pleasure to use, outside, inside, and tailstanding. The only thing that bugs me is that you can't set the AUX button lights to be completely off when in lockout, so instead of using Anduril's lockout function, I just do a half-turn on the tailcap to physically lock it out, which is technically safer. Another thing to note is the higher than average sustained Lumens without having a boost/buck driver, thanks to the thermal mass and good quality heatsinking and heat transfer.

Battery:
Uses a 21700 battery and comes with a good 18650 adapter. I would recommend high drain batteries such as a P42A or a 40T if you want the advertised output, as this light draws a bit over 25 amps on turbo.

Brightness Perf:

  • Low (H3): 107 Lumens
  • Med (H5): 807 Lumens
  • High (H7): 3934 Lumens
  • Turbo: 6715 Lumens
  • Max Lumens @30s: 2399 Lumens
  • Max Sustained Lumens: 376 Lumens

Verdict:
Rivals the Convoy M3 in the "feel of quality in hand". Best tint SST20's in the business. Overall a top 3 light in my collection. The only thing to make this light better would be USB charging and a boost/buck driver.

Pros:

  • Amazing design in more ways than one (looks and functional)
  • Anduril
  • Comes with 18650 adapter
  • Best SST20 tint in 5000K I've found
  • Great sustained output for a non boost driver
  • Great deal for $55 (what I paid back in 2020)

Cons:

  • No boost/buck driver
  • No USB charging
  • To fix these cons, you need to spend $108+ on the E07x Pro
